Located in Mountnugent on the shores of Lough Sheelin, the nursing home is nestled on the Cavan / Meath Border, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Mullaghmeen forest park and Lough Sheelin.

Sheelin Nursing Home has the capacity to accommodate up to 38 residents, in compliance with its registration. The facility welcomes both male and female residents, typically aged 65 years and over.

The nursing home employs two staff nurses and five carers during the day shift, and one staff nurse and two carers during the night shift. Additionally, the Director of Care (RGN) is present on-site Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. This staffing arrangement allows the facility to cater to residents with various dependencies, including those requiring general care, young chronic care, brain injury care, mild confusion (non-dementia specific), and respite care.
